The Village of Sleepy Hollow DPW is planning to add more street trees to our neighborhoods this fall.

It’s hard to quantify how much a tree is worth, but for decades, studies have shown they increase property values.
A 2010 U.S. Forest Service study found that if a house had a street tree, it sold on average of $8,870 more. ($13,500 in today’s dollars).
A house neighborhood with mature trees (your traditional leafy suburb) will be assessed at 20% higher than in a barren one, according to the University of Kentucky Urban forest initiative.
