The next Sustainable Sleepy Hollow meeting will be held on Monday, December 4 at 7pm in-person at Village Hall (28 Beekman Ave). After a quick review of 2023 accomplishments, this final meeting of the year will end with a holiday celebration to honor the people who volunteer their time and talents to help make Sleepy Hollow a more sustainable, Climate Smart Community.

Street Safety Survey: Please Complete by 12/15!

Concerned about pedestrian safety in Sleepy Hollow? Do you want to ensure accessibility for those navigating the village on foot, including children and elderly residents? If you answered ‘yes’ to these questions, please consider participating in this survey by December 15. Our Village is collaborating with Tarrytown to collect info from residents about what you would like to see, so that we can prioritize the changes our community needs most.
Make a Plan to Recycle your Christmas Tree
Every year after the holidays our village makes use of our old Christmas trees. Did you know that when you put out your tree for waste collection, our Village Department of Public Works (DPW) recycles them locally? We invite you to simply place your trees curbside for pickup by the DPW crews so they can turn them into wood chips for use throughout the Village parks and other community-owned properties. Help our village recycle our waste locally and nurture the beauty of our village.

Mark your calendars to attend the first of three workshops that will inform Sleepy Hollow’s Climate Action Plan, a roadmap to making our village more sustainable and resilient! At the first workshop, we’ll learn about the sources of emissions in our village, and how we will be impacted by a changing climate.
